PSI 2.0 shows 89% with the following insecure programs:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.x version 9.0.8112.16446
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.x (64-bit) version 9.0.8112.16446
Microsoft Windows Vista (version not listed)
Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 4.x version 4.20.9876.0
Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 6.x version 6.20.5002.0
Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 6.x (64-bit) version 6.20.5002.0
VLC Media Player 2.x version 2.0.1.0

When I run Microsoft update (either from within PSI or independently), it says that there are no updates.

Does anyone have a clue what is happening?

Bill

Are those programs identified as insecure the only versions of those programs on your computer?

I think in most cases Microsoft Update will only check that you have the latest version, whereas PSI also finds previous versions, somtimes in obscure folders.

PSI can show you where any older versions are located and perhaps you should delete them.

I'm not sure that this would apply to all the programs you listed, but it may do.

(Microsoft Update won't help with VLC Player as it's not a Microsoft program.)
