I just tried to update this thread http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/130...
but found it locked.
About 24 hours after I posted there I re ran the updater but got impatient & X'd out.
Then this past Tuesday evening,I re ran it again & once it started scanning,I went to bed.
5 hours later I checked it to see it was bouncing between preparing to update & updating.
I went back to bed & checked again 4 hours later & as I watched it saying the same thing, a box popped up saying the server was busy.
Sorry folks, if I have to wait 9 plus hours for a program to tell me nothing, I don't need it.
According to Secunia PSI my pc is 98% secure.
Since my pc runs excellent , I'm going to remove the F-Secure thing it says is out of date & not be concerned it finds Firefox out of date although I know factually it is the current version.
Thanks for your help & have a great day. :)

Threads auto lock after 7 days of no activity.

The important thing is what path PSI gives U for any given problem. U may be up to date with Firefox but also may have an old file still present which is vulnerable/End of Life which requires action.

FINDING A FILE PATH USING PSI

VERSION 2

From the DASHBOARD page click on SCAN RESULTS.

1. This will list all your programmes with a + to the left of each programme.
2. Click the + sign next to the item that U want help with.
3. This will reveal the path under DETECTED INSTANCES.
4. Below DETECTED INSTANCES you will see this You can double click this row for additional information & options>double click it>a box will appear>look to the RIGHT & U will see TROUBLESHOOT REPORT in BLUE writing under the heading TOOLBOX> click TroubleShoot Report & it will reveal some information in a box>highlight the information revealed from ---START--- to ---END--- & copy it (CTRL+C) then post it to the Forum (CTRL+V)

VERSION 3
This version does not have such an easy method to publish the path.

Open PSI>once open select Show Programs.
U will now see a page full of programme icons or a list.
Right click on the programme in error>select Show Details - that will open a box showing the path & version number of the offending file.
U now have 2 options:
1. Write down the exact file path & install version - return to the Forum & type that information.
2. Take a screen shot & publish that.

PSI or a vendor install will never update that - U are using or have used a backup programme called ERUNT.

It can be safely deleted.

DELETING A FILE OR FOLDER

VERSION 2

1. Open PSI>Scan results.

2. Against the programme marked as vulnerable is a + sign to the left of it.

3. Click that & it will reveal DETECTED INSTANCES.

4. Below that are two yellow folders. Click the one WITHOUT a red dot.

5. That will open Windows Explorer & U will be able to see the vulnerable file.
C:\WINDOWS\ERDTN\cache ver. 9.0.1.4371

6. Right click on that file & select delete.

7. Carry out a full PSI scan & all should be in order.

VERSION 3

Open PSI>once open select Show Programs.

U will now see a page full of programme icons or a list.

Right click on the icon that represents the programme in error>select Show Details - that will open a box showing the path & version number of the offending file.

Double click on C:\WINDOWS\ERDTN\cache ver. 9.0.1.4371

That will open Windows Explorer & U will see that file. Right click on it & select delete.

Run a full PSI scan & the problem should be resolved.

Pleased to see U are all fixed up.

On that basis, I will lock this thread for U sometime tomorrow unless U post back asking for it to be left open.

This will protect your mail box from possible update emails from "tag on" posts

You can of course lock threads U have created. Just click the ACCEPT button in the post of the helper who offered U the best solution/advice to solve your problem.

Secunia Support can always reopen threads by applying by email to: support@secunia.com

YOU can lock it. I'm assuming the letter U is You? I prefer real words.

So do I but I understood your UNREAL word & did not comment!

"About 24 hours after I posted there I re ran the updater but got impatient & X'd out."

I assume YOU will be looking elsewhere for assistance on your next problem or hide the issue as you were going to do in this case - I will certainly not be offering my free time to help.
