Edward, Are your drives showing? Open PSI>Settings (at the bottom)>Mouse over Scan Individual Drives - are they listed? -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |

Boot drive (C:) is showing, checked, and grayed out. I take that to mean it is always active and cannot be deactivated, even though grayed out is also a common way to indicate deactivation. Recovery drive (D:) is showing, unchecked. That is an HP feature (for PC recovery I believe) and so should not be scanned. Certainly I never install software on it. -- Sometimes they fool you by walking upright. |

Thank you - that bit looks OK. Are all these programmes listed in C:\Program Files or is the path different? -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |

Show Details says they are installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)", except the ones marked 64 bit which are installed in "C:\Program Files". So they are found in the locations that one might expect. -- Sometimes they fool you by walking upright. |

Thank you - I agree. I would try this: 1. Check that the Secunia Update Agent (SUA) is running & set to automatic via Control Panel>Accessories>Services. 2. Check that all the settings are as per the revised FAQ here: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal... 3. Update to the latest variant of version 3. The down load is below my Signature Block. -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |

After upgrading to 3.0.0.3001 the problem disappeared, at least for now. We'll see what happens after the next reboot. Prior to upgrade, SUA was set to Automatic, but not running. Maybe I am misunderstanding, but the FAQ seems to offer settings changes only in the case where the software is unable to scan, and instead is stuck at verifying Internet connection. In any case no change was needed. -- Sometimes they fool you by walking upright. |

Agreed about the FAQ - worth just checking because if it fails to work my next suggestion would be to elevate the issue to Secunia Support by email indicating U have done all the normal tests & it still does not work. Will be interested to know if it starts updating. -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |
