I only list VLC 2.02 on my system in add/remove aka programs and features. Secunia PSI 3.0.0.3001 consistently reports that I have 1.0.3.0 and that I should update to secure version 2.x. Updating automatically doesn't work, the status changes, it just seems to cycle, it will however reinstall VLC 2.0.2.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled PSI. I have uninstalled VLC and updated. VLC internal updater says it's current. I'm not sure what else to do here.

Hi.

Some program use VLC (Like Tribler,) but they dont use the lastest version of VLC(They use version 1.x) and you cant update it yourself, You have to wait until they do it.

If you are using tribler, go to their website, where you can vote on what you like to see in the next version of the program.

Hope it helps.

Hi ,

It is likely (as suggested above) that you have an old file installed somewhere ; to help locate your problem exactly , you need to tell us where the file PSI is detecting is located .

Rightclick the icon an post here the "show details" info from PSI3 .

It was not obvious how to find the path to program identified, even though I was viewing through the detailed view. Once I did find the path, I found it was located in a very strange path in a user profile. I just deleted the folder and rescanned..all clear. Thank you everyone for your input and assistance.
