Hello
I use a new program that is not in the database. I tried to enter it but was unable to.
It is called Tweaking.com registry backup and has been a time saver for me.
My skill level is not that good so this program suits me well in its simplicity..
Perhaps you would like to check this out for your database. I have no affiliation with the program but when I run Secunia I would like to see all of my programs listed. It took me a week last time to notice that the program needed updating. It states it at the top but we are always in a hurry so depend upon Secunia to let us know what needs updating..
Computer,C:\, Program files x's 86, Tweaking
Thank you
Peter N.

Hello.

Do you mean that you have tried suggesting it for monitoring by clicking on the "Are you missing a program" feature on the Scan Results page of psi ?
It does require that you find the exe or dll file of the program you wish psi to include.

If that has failed....you could try e mailing whatever info you do have to Secunia Support direct......
support@secunia.com

Hope it helps.............regards........

Edit.....

You should note that psi will notify you of an update to a program if that patch will further the security of the program. Sometimes updates become available for progs.; but are only bug fixers and cosmetic improvements.....psi will not advise of those.

I have registered it for you.

I must say I am surprised you have installed it without contacting the vendor because it does not have a valid digital signature.

I rescan sometime tomorrow or Wednesday should reveal the programme if Secunia accept it.

Peter,
If U carry out a full PSI rescan the programme should now be detected.

EDIT
Please be aware that from now on PSI will only advise you to update to a later version if your current installation is vulnerable. This refers:

Hello
I received 11 emails from Secunia.
I am only a normal user and maybe I made a mistake. A friend of mine referred me to a forum Tweaking.com and I saw the registry back up .
I have had problems with sytstem restore at times and thought it would be good to have another backup.
If I have made a mistake and should remove the program, plese advise me to do so. I was only trying to help by putting the program in the data base at Secunia so it would always be updated. What prompted this was that I noticed the prgram was not updated yet Secunia did not flag it. That is why I told you about it.
Please advise me to uninstall this program if you feel it advisable as I have always relied upon Secunia for advice.
Thank you
Peter

Hello
I just noticed you said the program has been entered and should respond to a Secunia scan.
I hope I have done the right thing and thank you very much for your cooperation.

Would you keep the unsigned program on your pc?

No - but I must say a viral & malware scan gave it a clean bill of health.

If you enjoy that programme keep it but it might be an idea to write to the vendor & ask them why.

Peter
Pleased to see you are all fixed up.

On that basis, I will lock this thread for U sometime tomorrow unless U post back asking for it to be left open.

This will protect your mail box from possible update emails from "tag on" posts

You can of course lock threads U have created. Just click the ACCEPT button in the post of the helper who offered U the best solution/advice to solve your problem.

Secunia Support can always reopen threads by applying by email to: support@secunia.com
