I can't post in the old forum - PSI 3.0 hangs when it is started. I have tried uninstalling / reinstall, going back to an older version, etc. with no success. It is scanning as it tells me that I have programs that require manual update but when I try to open Secunia to see what programs they are, it just hangs. I am Windows 7, 64-bit machine. -- Frustrated Non-Techie |

@knahsic Did you follow E.Jeppeson's advice from this thread ? http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/132... Some comments from this thread also :- http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/132... When you run Belarc, it carries out a pc audit......in the lower half of the resulting page you can check that all updates and hotfixes required are present. To initiate CHKDSK.......Start/Computer/Disc to be checked/Properties ( with a red tick alongside).....Tools in the panel that appears....then Check Now.....for next startup. Have you also verified that psi is showing as"allowed" in your McAfee firewall permissions ? Sometimes when changing versions of psi it has been known to cancel the older permission and may need to be affirmed again. Hope the foregoing helps.........regards.......... -- |

Since those forums are locked, I will post here. I reinstalled Secunia 3.0 but it still hangs. As per the post, in the Administrative Tools the PSI Agent is there but NOT the Update Agent. I use Firefox and McAfee - I don't see where to add Secunia to my trusted sites. Secunia 3.0 worked fine til a month ago. -- Frustrated Non-Techie |

@knahsic Have you checked thro ' the settings/explanation found here....thoroughly ? http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal... Havng first verified those.....clear out any temp. files/folders and then try re-installing using the link found in one of Maurice Joyce's posts.....beneath the signature block :- http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/132... Hi, The Secunia Update Agent (SUA) needs access to our servers otherwise the PSI won't work as intended.
