After installing Adobe Reader XI there is an NPSWF32.dll in the subdirectory of the Reader. CSI tells me, there is a vulnerability of the Flash Player (NPAPI) - but the normal Flash Player (NPAPI) has the right version and is listed as OK

How to resolve that problem?

PS: if i delete this NPSWF32.dll it still comes back with the start of the Adobe Reader...

Hello csi@prealpina-suisse.ch

Similar problem here;
Windows XP-home SP3,
Personal Software Inspector (PSI) 2.0.0.3003.

PSI recognizes C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\NPSWF32.dll (version 11.4.402.265) as a Zombie file with a low security risk.

The workaround I used was:
Copy the up to date version of Flash Player (NPAPI) from
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32_11_4_40 2_287.dll into the (above) Reader 11.0 folder.
Rename NPSWF32.dll (in the Reader 11.0 folder) into NPSWF32.dll.old.
Rename NPSWF32_11_4_402_287.dll (in the Reader 11.0 folder) into NPSWF32.dll.

Both Adobe Reader 11.0 and PSI seems to be satisfied.

WARNING: Don't know if this still works when opening a PDF file with an embedded Flash-video.

Websafe.
