Why are all the threads in this forum marked as locked?
No one can respond to anyone's threads and no one at Secunia seems to respond to the questions posed in the forums either.

How can someone offer advice to a post when every thread is locked?

@eobiont

Threads are automatically locked after 7 days. They are also locked if a reply has been accepted and in some cases if the Handling Contributor has deemed them to be unnecessary/irrelevant etc....at his discretion. The originator of a thread can contact Support if he/she wishes it re-opened.

Originators benefit from threads being locked after the issue has been dealt with...by virtue of the fact that it negates the ability for tag-on posts to be created....and also reminder e mails to find their way into in boxes.

Your last statement is an exaggeration I think.

Hope the foregoing is explanation enough.......regards.......

I don't think it is an exageration. Every thread in the CSI forum, except for this one, is locked. Unless, for some reason, I can't see all the threads.

@eobiont

I was just about to edit my last post ! Yes I see that your statement is true with regard to the CSI section of the forum. My apologies.
I would suggest that you could create your own thread and refer to the original in your reply.
I'm sure Maurice Joyce ( Handling Contributor) will be able to offer more info once he views your thread.
Sorry I can't be of more help....regards..

I am unsure why my name has been mentioned in this thread or that a Handling Contributor may close a thread etc.

The CSI Sub-Forum is for Corporate users. All the threads (apart from this one) on that Forum are/were auto locked under the 7 day rule.

Any comments on the running of the Corporate Forum should be addressed to corporate@secunia.com particularly the lack of replies if considered an issue.

To set the record straight I do not lock ANY threads without giving the ORIGINATOR the opportunity to keep it open & NEVER manually lock any CSI threads.

As far as I am concerned the CSI Forum is for IT Professionals who prefer Forum Communication rather than Direct Support via csc@secunia.com & leave well alone.

I will now unsubscribe as this thread has nothing to do with me.

Hi,

I apologize for the late reply.

Like Maurice said, the thread will be locked automatically when 7 days from the last reply have passed.

Do you want me to reopen your Quick time thread? Iíll have a look at the question in a minute.
