I have the latest Stable Chrome release (23.0.1271.64) and this is successfully detected/reported in the main PSI 2.0.0.3003 Scan list, but there is no mention of Google Chrome in the Secure Browsing list.

My other Browsers IE (9.0.8112.16450 - 32&64 bit versions) and Firefox (16.0.2.4680) are properly mentioned and some of their Add-ons are reported on.

Is this a feature/known issue or is there a problem with my installation?

Regards,

@jrp2706

It's very likely it's yet to be included in the Secure Browsing feature. Each time there's a Chrome update it seems to take a few days for things to "settle down" again.
I use the 2.0.0.3003 psi version because it's been the most reliable....tho' the Chrome versions I use aren't monitored by Secunia, so can't be more precise.

Thank you for pointing out this issue. Please rescan as it should now have been fixed.

Thank you for the extremely quick response.

Yes, Google Chrome is now in the Secure Browsing report.

However, in common with the other browsers it does not report on all extensions/add-ins present.

Would you like me to open a new thread for this issue, or provide full details of the missing items in each browser in this thread?

Regards,

Hi ,

This has always been a problem , not least because many "Add-ons" do not load a file with "metadata" that the Secunia/PSI can read . If you look at your Firefox Tools menu->Add-ons->Plugins->Check to see if your plug-ins are up to date , then , if you are similar to me and my system , probably only half will actually be checkable security/version wise by Moz/Ff .

Chrome is supposed to warn you if you have an out of date plug-in or at least disable it for you . Never really checked in detail ; look in the Customise/Control menu (icon top far rhs of ahy window - used to be a spanner , but now 3 horizontal bars on my/the Dev Channel ->Settings->Show Advanced Settings->Privacy/Content Settings->Plug-Ins/Disable Individual Plug-ns .

Do not use IE .

It is up to you to do the work , so if you can find a "relevant" file with checkable metadata :eg: .exe , .dll or sometimes .rtf : for a "missing" "add-on" , you can use the "Are you missing a program ?" link at the top rhs of the PSI's Scan Results" page to suggest it to Secunia .

Take care

Anthony
