Hello,

PSI says my firefox must update to version 17 but all morning I only see verifying update.
And when I open firefox I see I have version 17 installed.

What can I do now ?

Hi ,

Which version of the PSI are you using on which OS ??

What is the location of the file that the PSI is detecting as requiring an update ??

Are you saying that in the open Ff Browser "Help" menu ->About Mozilla Firefox" is showing version 17.0 (in the release channel) ??

Anthony

I think version 3 on a Win7 64 bit.

What is the location of the file that the PSI is detecting as requiring an update ??

c://windows/erdnt/cache86/firefox.exe

Hi ,

The "erdnt" file the PSI is detecting is part of the ERUNT back up programme .

You can either delete the file or make an ignore rule .

In PSI 3.0.x right click the icon or Firefox listing and select either the

1)Show details and you will get to the "ERDNT" firefox.exe file EDIT: by double clicking the entry when you can then see the file (in Windows Explorer) right click it and (safely) delete , or

2)Ignore this program . I do not use PSI 3.0 at the moment and am not sure how much of the ERDNT folder and files will be ignored (in the future) by the PSI version 3.0.x ; the rule will be displayed at the bottom of the "Scan Results" page and can be reversed .

As well as this firefox.exe location , the PSI should also be detecting Mozilla Firefox version 17.0 as secure . Is this the case ??

The ERUNT back up files are not (under normal circumstances) available to the bad guys so both actions are fine .

A full scan should get you back to 100% .

Hope that is clear enough , if not ask again .

Anthony

Hi ,

Good to hear . You can find your PSI version by right clicking the tray icon and selecting "About..."

The latest version is 3.0.0.4001 as per this page :-

Take care
