Has anyone had problems after installing the latest version, v1.04?

Mine does what the previous version did, but after the 'sending information' stage nothing happens - there'no page with the results.

I've emailed them but don't expect a reply.

PS Leendert - are you still using FH?

Hi taffy, yes, I still use FH v. 1.04 and it works as usual. No problems seen the last days.

Hi Leendert. Hoping you're well.

I've just been to the FileHippo site to check the comments posted under the Update Checker product entry. I can't view the comments - IE8 is no longer supported!

So I reckon that the cause of my woes is the IE8. I can't have IE9, because I've got XP so I'll make Firefox my default browser and try again.

Hi taffy, I have one PC and one laptop, both Windows 7-64bits and IE9. My default browser is Firefox v. 18.0, so I assume your problem will be solved by setting Firefox to default.

Just installed Filehippo on my old Windows XP SP3 with only IE8 installed & it works perfectly as a programme.

The results it gives on what requires updating on the PC if way off being correct but that does not appear to be your issue.

If you've used any Microsoft Fix its to mitigate Internet Explorer vulnerabilities, try uninstalling them. They sometimes have odd side effects.

thanks for your imput, guys - much appreciated. Yes, @ddmarshall I did use the FixIt.

I first went to the FileHippo site to check comments there but I couldn't view them I got a message that Disqus, the software that enables posts, doesn't support IE8 so that was why I'd assumed that was also the reason why I was having problems.

I've just been back there (http://www.filehippo.com/download_update_checker/c...) and when I clicked on the Comments tab, I had a message that "there was a problem with the page - IE has reopened with a new tab". I could view the comments and they're not at all complimentary - some are having the same problem as yours, Maurice.

So I removed it with Revo and installed the previous version (v1.039) and it's working properly.

Thanks again for your comments.
