Yet another security warning about Java.

According to PCPitstop:
http://techtalk.pcpitstop.com/2013/01/16/uninstall...

the USA's Homeland Security has issued an alert.

For what it's worth - I'm just a user, not an expert.

Having now looked at all the comments, it seems that the article has upset a lot of experts, who say it's rubbish!! How can ordinary users decide? [edit: I've removed it using Revo, to be on the safe side.]

PS If it IS dangerouse, and should be removed, what about the related programs such as J2SE Runtime Runvironment? Should that be removed as well?

further edit: typo

Microsoft issued an alert a couple of weeks ago - can't remember what about - and they recommended all kind of temporary changes pending a patch being released. I uninstalled Java as part of that. It caused too many problems and the same has happened again - I've re-installed it.

What a farce.
