Secunia PSI reports program requires manual update. On inspection program being updated is Oracle Java JRE 1.7x/7.x updating from version 7.0.90.5 to 7.0.110.21, however when viewing PSI History it shows that program has been successfully updated no less than SIX times. What is happening and how can this situation be corrected??

If you open Control Panel>add/remove (Program & Features) how many copies of JRE or JSE or JDK or JVM or JAVA(TM) can you see?

On inspection Installed Programs shows Java 7 Update 9, Java 7 Update 11(64bit), Java(TM)6 Update 22 and Java(TM)6 Update 37. Does this help in defining a solution?

By pressing Accept you locked the thread which I have now reopened. Only press that option when your problem is resolved to your satisfaction.

PSI is trying to update all those old versions hence the "muddle"

Go back to Control Panel & use the uninstall option & remove all of them.

Once complete run a full PSI rescan & Oracle JAVA should not show as being installed. If it does let me know.

If PSI shows that it is not installed then reinstall the latest version using this link:

http://www.java.com/en/download/ie_manual.jsp?loca...

Another rescan with PSI should reveal it is present & secure.
