PSI never completes. It gets stuck showing "updating scanning result." Below is part of the psilog; the entire log contains the same or similar information continuously repeated.

I had the same problem-
I just closed PSI, then opened it again after 1min, and the Programs list showed (I suspect my AV might have been the culprit?).

Have you had psi working properly previously....maybe another version ?
You're not trying to run it using a proxy are you ? If so, please note :-
I cannot get the Secunia PSI to work on a system using a proxy. Why is this?

The Secunia PSI does not officially support proxies, and Secunia do not offer support for using the Secunia PSI on platforms with proxies.

There have been server problems recently.....I had trouble trying to scan....have you tried again ?

Thanks for your help.
I have used PSI in the past with no problems. I do not use a proxy, and I have turned off Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials. The problem still exists. Do you have additional suggestions as to how I can track down the source of this problem?

Have you ever had any success with the version you have installed at present.....3.0.0.6001 ?
It may be worth trying another version of psi.....which may have worked for you in the past..........you can find the different options at the foot of any of Maurice Joyce's posts on the forum.....here for example :-
http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/138... second post down.
If you do install another version, let it remove the psi 3.0.

Hope it's of help............regards.....

I would just sit back & relax until such time as Secunia Support indicate they have finally cleared the faults that have made the Forum, PSI & xSI extremely unreliable over the last week.

If your settings are correct from the information given on your log report ( [02/09 13:16:30.388] Error while checking in with server (12057) : "It was not possible to connect to the revocation server or a definitive response could not be obtained.") then it must be assumed it is the Secunia Server in error.

Had the same problem and was resigned to waiting it out. Then noticed I'd loaded an Adobe Flash update yesterday so uninstalled that then reinstalled it. Miraculously Secunia then completed without a problem. Quite pleased as I do like that 100% secure score even though I don't understand fully the reason for the problem.

Hi
We had a server issue which has now been fixed.

The PSI might have to be closed completely down, that meaning the PSI window and tray icon.

Thanks for your help. I disabled antivirus and the firewall, and rebooted my machine; ran 3.0 with the same results. I then restarted the anti-virus and the firewall, and installed version 2.0 and tried to run a scan. It reported that it was aborted, and here is the content of the log file:

I've just run a full scan using psi 2.0.0.3003 completed successfully, to be sure; as I too have suffered a couple of aborted scans over the last few days.....tho', on at least one occasion the results were displayed when I next loaded psi.
It would seem that your predicament has improved slightly tho' not fully satisfactorily.
For the time being you might simply try cleaning and defragging before scanning....it does often improve smoothness of operation.
Can you run CHKDSK ? That will check for lost/orphaned/corrupt files and those unindexed etc..
I can't think of much else to try at the present time.....

Thanks for your help.

I ran CHKDSK, but it had no effect. Your suggestion caused me to remember that I am using SanDisk's ReadyCache SSD cache, which I disabled, but again, PSI aborted.

Can you confirm what version of psi 2.0 you are using ? I've always found 2.0.0.3003 to be the most reliable from it's conception.

Well, the last couple of days, I havn't had a problem with psi 2.0.0.3003....apart from it being a little jittery towards the end of a scan...........but I use a registry scanner at least a couple of times a week.......something must be crossed or opposed.
I'm at a loss as to know what else to suggest......it shouldn't affect scanning as far as I know....but is your chosen browser set correctly in the registry ?
Is it worth checking thro' the FAQ's once again meticulously ? I'm sorry I can't be of any more help..........regards........
