Yo OGSO ,

I can see clearly now the catas have gone , thanks for asking .

Top knifeman , the latest microsurgery (no stitches) and folding lenses means (so far) all gain and no pain - minor initial irritation as expected .

Can read , write and see the world when I wake/get up full of barefaced cheeks . It was decided that I would still need glasses or contact lenses for correction of my (major) astigmatisme and to see detail at long distance (especially driving) and to get best vision - rather than trying complex lens implants . Happy with that .

BUT the colour change WOWSERS The catas made me lose a lot of the blue/UV end of the light/colour spectrum (quite common) so everything has/had been dulled down and given a drab yellowish and greyish tint . NOW the Purple Haze of my psychedelic youth is back with a brilliant vengeance plus a renewed colour perspective to boot . Sublime or as Will S. put it " But soft ,what light thru' yonder window breaks??" and BTO wisely summed up "You ain't seen nothing yet !!" :-

Really pleased .

Take care

Anthony

Hey Anthony

Good to hear that surgery was a raging success.
Your comments were almost word-for-word as my
brothers especially regarding colors. He to had to
have glasses for the same reason as you. Only
other comment I know of regarding this was a
acquaintance who had lens 'replacement'? & said
that it ruined driving @ night for him-said all lights had a 'halo' effect around them. Hope I don't meet him on
the road anytime soon @ night!

I also enjoyed the 'back in time' video-certainly hope this holds true for you.

I certainly wish for you to continue the good success
that you now enjoy.

Regards OGSO

Back again , OGSO . Been off watching some nicely coloured paint dry while waiting for Secunia to get it's act/servers together . MJ doesn't seem to think much of their communication efforts ; even worse than usual .

Anyway , back to more interesting me .

The halo problem is important with catas . I decided to go for the chop now as halos and dazzling oncoming lights were making evening/nighttime driving more hazardous than ever for me ; even allowing for well known roads and tracks , watching the back of my hand does not help with the blinding oncoming .

I was advised that with my correction , even the latest complex lenses :ie: multifocal or toric : would be most likely to leave me with halos , of some degree or other , plus dazzling . This was an unacceptable risk in my eyes , hence the choice of a more "simple" lens and continuing with spectacles . The halos are nearly gone now and should probably go altogether in the next few weeks ; a real boon .

Worth bearing in mind , according to your needs .

EDIT: see this :-

Hey Anthony

Thanks for update on the process/choices
to correct halo & dazzling effect. The person
I told about had not had the problem(s)
until after the surgery-& if i remember correctly
he was not advised of this side effect. Not
to mention he was not happy with the results-
he had the surgery (probably Lasik) so as not to
have to wear contacts/eyeglasses-bad result
as now that would not correct the halo/dazzling effect.
Oh well-you pays your money & you takes
your chances.

Read with interest MJs comments on the
communication/server problems. Could there
be trouble in paradise? According to what
'mood' the scanner is in I may or may not have
have 1 of the Flash Players installed-1 scan NPAPI & ActiveX-next scan only 1 will be displayed-but
I digress it"s a free program so I'll live with it.

Enjoyed vid-carry on & hope it all comes true.
Be well & enjoy-till next time.

Regards, OGSO

Don't come to the site except on a rare occassion. Had to smile. Not only are you still an active contributor, you had eye surgery too. Was a R.N. until my retirement but that did not prepare me for the clarity post op.My surgeon laughed when I told her I thought my house was clean until the day I returned home and was able to see the dust.Tells you are climbing up in age and I thought you were sooooo young. :). All the best.

Hi RuthE aka MaritimeRider ,

Nice to hear from you ; it's surprising what lurks behind a name . My scribblings are obviously more childish/juvenile than my aging ego would assume :)) Glad your op was good for you ; dusting is also good for you !!

I'll close this thread now to avoid our (resident) spammer filling up our inboxes .

Take care y'all .

Anthony
