Went and got the pdf file; it will not save unless I remove characters and symbols before 'productsheet' title?

Is it just me or do other experience this as well? http://secunia.com/?action=fetch&filename=products... (direct link to pdf file)

What's actually to the left of the filename that can't be seen in the screenshot?
Using Adobe Reader XI on Windows 7 the : and / and ? in the URL are replaced by _. Is this what you see? I can't tell if the filename with these illegal characters is what is being downloaded and then being replaced by Adobe Reader or if the _'s are originally in the filename.
Another possibility is that it's a long name and you're going over the 260 character MAX_PATH limit.

Hi ddmarshall and Maurice

I think ddmarshall hit it on the head re the illegal characters. It was they that was preventing the download. Thank you for the confirmation.

Question is, where did they come from?

Simple deduction told me the characters should not be there, so I clicked the file name box and removed them. Once I did that, the file could be (and was) downloaded. New file name began with productsheet_psi30_technical.pdf. I assume this was the entire file name as I did not have to modify anything else within that box.

Using Foxit Reader 5.4.5.0124 as Adobe Reader seems to have too many problems with newly discovered exploits. Is this a possible defect within Foxit?

The point of bringing this up is because one should not have to perform such an action, and curious as to whether the source of this anomaly is actually the Secunia pdf or not.

What I did was click your link which opened a new tab in Internet Explorer with the PDF displayed in Adobe Reader. I then used the Save icon in Adobe Reader. That created a file called http___secunia.com__action=fetch&filename=products heet_psi30_technical.pdf. It looks like Adobe Reader replaced the illegal :/? (unless it's a Windows 7 feature) and Foxit didn't.

Joe,
The link you gave shows like this in the browser.

https://akkkug.bn1.livefilestore.com/y1p2ZwY1_-5mW...

The identical usable hyperlink is here:

http://secunia.com/?action=fetch&filename=products...

Clicking the link above will give you the full PDF document in the browser.

Using the browser File>save as allows it to be saved & read from wherever you store it.

Are you suggesting that link does not work for you?
