Hi

Well, that page I mentioned below in 'New Version Date Error' is now fixed, as 3.0.0.6007 has been launched, and is now shown there.

Or is it 3.0.0.6007? When I click on 'About Secunia PSI' in the tray icon, it tells me it's 3.0.0.7009

Also (c) 2012 Secunia, though it's 2013 now.

If you look in Windows Explorer you will see the PSI exe file is 7009.

CRC32: FD719802
MD5: DA72B5D5790FE420E4DF69C8FF84DB06
SHA-1: 96ACC1DCC91D0BDC7949782ABBE5E9163FE94DE9

6007 is a Secunia "wobbly".

I am not amused about the new version the least to say. First of all it's disappointing that the link to forum and profile is deleted. Then I discovered that my profile is vanished. It seem to be impossible to recover the profile. Can anybody confirm that my observations are correct and how to solve this?

@LeendertKip

The last but one item in the Changelog, states...Secunia Community and share menus removed....seems quite final.

This is a minor maintenance release. The primary changes are:

General Enhancements:

Auto-update stuck at "Verifying update". Fixed. The Secunia PSI now actively polls for the status of each on-going update for as long as it has not finished (instead of relying on the reporting from the agent).
Distinguish between having insecure programs and not having results in the tray icon. Fixed. The Secunia PSI will now actively and periodically poll for status on programs that are updating.
Scan result inconsistences. Fixed. The Secunia score is now calculated from the local status instead of using (possibly old) data from the server.
Sorting on version columns. Fixed.
Windows update check causing the Secunia PSI to get stuck on the scanning page. Fixed.
"Add program" link to make software suggestions would sometimes not react to clicks. Fixed.
For detected network communication errors, the user is now informed about the problems and is able to try again if the problem is temporary. This is done when changing settings, deleting history, making software suggestions, ignoring/unignoring updates, and changing which drives to scan.
Version reporting of the Secunia PSI version and error reporting for use in support cases. Fixed.
Splash screen is automatically dismissed after 30 seconds.
Secunia Community and Share menus removed.
Dutch language option added.

Hi Mogs, I did read the changelog after I installed 7009 and expressed that I am disappointed that the links to forum and profile are deleted. But does that mean that the profile is no longer in use as from this version?

@Leendert

The way I read it......if the ability of psi 3.0 is no longer to share with the Community....there's no reason for the profile to be provided. It does seem that it's moved away from previous versions.
That's my reading of it.....I'm sure someone will clarify further tomorrow if needs be.
Hey....the addition of the Dutch language must be a positive for you tho', Leendert ?

Regards.......mogs.......

Hi Mogs, thanks for the explanation, we'll wait and see for other comments and info. Tomorrow I'll check on my laptop which has stll the old verion installed so I'll see if the profile has been deleted. The Dutch language version is positive for people who doesn't understand English but I still prefer the English version.

We are currently looking into the issue with the version numbers.

The removal of the community menu means that it is no longer possible to log automatically into the community via the PSI. The standard way of logging in on the website should still work.

Edit: The version number on the website has been corrected.
