Hi,

I am having a problem with the Sun Java JRE 1.6x/6x program. This is on a Win XP/ SP3 Home Edition Machine. I currently have the latest version of Oracle Java installed, version JRE 7 and it is working fine. However, Secuna also shows 5 different versions of the Sun Java JRE 1.6x/6x program, which are all listed as end of life, but Secuna is trying to update them, but can't , Stating: Update Delayed, Program in use, even though I have no open programs or browsers, except Secuna. I want to remove these older versions, but my add/remove programs only shows the latest version, JRE 7x. Secuna shows the following versions need updating:

C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6 0_01\bin\java.exe, version 6.0.10.6
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6 0_02\bin\java.exe, version 6.0.20.6
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6 0_03\bin\java.exe, version 6.0.30.5
C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe, version 6.0.450.6
C:\Program Files\Java\jre 1.6 0_05\bin\java.exe, version 6.0.50.13

In addition, The Java Folder in Program files shows three versions of jre1.4x and two versions of jre1.5x.

My question is this: As none of these show up in Add/Remove Programs, can I safely delete all these old obsolete folders from the Java folder? And what do I do about what Secuna says that the program is in use?

Please help!

Thank You,

kazookid

They can all be safely deleted.

Then run a full PSI scan & all should be in order.
