Today I worked on a Windows 7 Starter laptof of a fiend. Most of the 10/9 updates were processed correct but 4 are having a problem: according update history they are correctly installed but after running a scan for new update they are marked as not installed. On my own
pc no problems because the related software isn't installed. They are:

KB2760411 MS Office 2007
KB2760588 MS Office 2007
KB2760583 MS Excel 2007

Then an update for Security Essentials which is installed on that laptop:
KB2310138 1.157.1873.0

It's impossible for me to find a cause: the software on the laptop or a problem in the update
or update process. I'm quite sure I'm not alone. Any ideas?

You are not alone - see this thread:

It is a case of wait & see from Microsoft.

Hi Maurice, It's clear I overlooked the posts you pointed me to. Thanks for the info. I'm relieved it's not related to the software installed on the pc. I'll wait patiently till the almighty Mr. MS comes up with solutions.

The Office update problems should be fixed now.

If you are still experiencing problems, you can report them here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_sustained_engine...

Hi Maurice & DDM. All four problems are fixed now. I just ran a manual MS update, updates were downloaded and installed without problem.
