It started 8 years ago with WinFixer. Cyber criminals tried to scare us with fake AV scans and hundreds of PC errors found. Once this ceased bring them money, they shifted to some nastier things like screen locks with fake police warnings. These are doing great with about 50 localized versions even for small countries like Luxembourg with about 500K population. Now it's time for the worst of all: Cryptolocker which not only locks your PC but also encrypts all files. The latest is turning into epidemic. So, what's next? What will they try to scare us next time with?
