I previously removed an old version of PSI using the Add/Remove facility in WIN XP.
I am now trying to load the latest version of PSI and keep getting a message telling me that an older version has been found and it needs to be removed before proceeding.
The PSI installer was unable to remove the previous version and advises that it should be removed manually before attempting to restart the loading of the latest version.
I can find no trace of an older version left on my PC. I have run a register clean up program to see if there was any trace of it in the register but that has found nothing.
How do I proceed in my attempt to load the latest version of PSI ?

Have you checked the Registry manually yourself, using regedit ? Checked for Secunia entries in HKEY_ CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE......Software ? Have you cleared out temp. files etc., using CCleaner or some such, before running the psi installer ?
Probably also worth checking your settings still conform to those in the FAQ....noting the last paras for XP users....here :-
The Secunia PSI won’t load the interface or won’t complete scanning. What can I do
Some XP users havn't had much joy with the later versions of psi, and have found themselves reverting to psi 2.0
Hope the foregoing is of some help........regards.......mogs......
