The above programme ver 1.7.0.7858 is the old version, the newest currently available from
http://www.mpc-hc.org/ is ver 1.7.1.

My problem is my Secunia ver 2 thinks 1.7.0 is the latest, and even though I tried to update the programme to the latest, Secunia keeps downgrading it to 1.7.0. It does not recognise the new version 1.7.1

Your kind help appreciated

This programme is not vulnerable as can be seen here:

https://secunia.com/advisories/53349/

Secunia will only update your PC to the latest stable & secure version.

http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal...

You will need to download the latest version yourself which is a bug fix/cosmetic change update:

https://trac.mpc-hc.org/wiki/Changelog/1.7.1

Once installed run a full PSI scan & it should show.

Peter,
Is it now showing correctly in PSI?

I assume you want this programme properly updated to watch the cricket. Rumour has it that England will regain the Ashes once a stable wicket has been established on Mars!!

I hate to disappoint you Maurice, but even though I have been living in Australia just over 57 years I can not bring myself to watch Cricket-:) No self respecting Hungarian would-:)
However to play Cricket in 43 C temperature would qualify all players to be admitted to some institution for the insane-:)

As to the program update, I have given up trying to update it, the link you have given me is much too complicated for my old brain...

No matter, as long as it is just a cosmetic change, I can live with the old version.

Cheers Peter

Peter,
I did not give you the download link merely the change log details. This link should update it easily for you:

http://www.mpc-hc.org/

or click here:

http://freefr.dl.sourceforge.net/project/mpc-hc/MP...

After a full PSI rescan the new version should show in the scan results.

Maurice,

Now I understood! - Thanks, I did the update and the new version is installed. I scanned with Secunia (twice) but alas while all is well, Secunia does not list the programme, apparently does not recognize it. Perhaps one day it will, when Secunia's database is updated.

Keep well, Happy Christmas and New Year!

Cheers Peter

Peter,
To save you more hassle I submitted the details to Secunia for you.

On your next PSI scan it should show like this:

Maurice,

You were right, I did a scan and as if by magic the programme appeared with the 1.7.1 new version tag. Many thanks. You can lock the thread now, and hope you got over your disappointment over the Ashes-:)
