We have a Problem while publishing the updates made with CSI 6.0 Console to our new installed WSUS.

The WSUS Operating System is a Server 2012R2 with WSUS 6.3.9600.16384.

The Operating System where the Console is Running is a Windows 8.1.

After creating the update and click on "publish" we get the following Error:

Failed to publish package.

Code: -2146233079
Failed to sign package; error was: 2147942405

The WSUS Selfsigned Certificate is on the local machine in the stores "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" and "Trusted Publishers". On the WSUS this certificate is also in these two stores and in the WSUS Store.

I hope you can help us to fix this Problem.

Kind regards

Florian Huber

Try opening a cmd with elevated rights. Then launch x86-IE with "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe". Now CSI can access windows certificate-API.

Edit: Just saw CSI 6 version. So just launch the console with elevated rights.

And I could imagine you might need the certificate with its private key, which is in the WSUS store to sign a package. So it would not work on the Win8 machine that only trusts already signed packages. But I'm not sure about that.

Thank you very much but that didn't helped me.

But I have found the error. I have put my Domain User in the group of the Administrators at the WSUS and it works to publish the Updates.

It seems that without admin rights at WSUS I'm not able to write to the disk.

Thank you for your time and your help.

Kind regards from Germany
