My Windows OS is 64 bit. My Oracle Java JRE requires manual update to 7u51. Two questions.
1. Why can't these updates be automatic?
2. When checking for the right update on the Oracle site I see two files that appear appropriate:
Windows x86 123.64 MB jdk-7u51-windows-i586.exe
Windows x64 125.46 MB jdk-7u51-windows-x64.exe
Should I install both the x64 and x86 or just the x64?

You only require the 64Bit version if you run a 64Bit browser.
