Hello @ all,

I have a new computer with Operating System: Windows 7 64 Bit.
I have downloaded PSI Secunia and all the software is actually (manual Scan).

My problem:
In the right corner is a hint: Microsoft update
If I click on this:

Window appears:
Microsoft update is not installed.
Without the Microsoft update some missing Updates cannot be recognize.
A button: <Microsoft Update install>

If I click on the button - a hint: Microsoft update requires Internet Explorer.
If I open the Internet Explorer - try to open www.microsoft.com/windowsupdate

Thie page cannot open - only the hint: click on the windows-Start-Button --> all programms -->and then windows update

I have installed all updates and there are no new updates.

How can I use the update-function in the browser Internet Explorer?
Is there a option?

Please excuse my english - English is not my mother language.

I would be happy, if you can help me.

Best regards.
Estarina

Ok - thank you.
I switch on menu bar - and so I see "Tools" and the option Windows Update.
So the Service-Center opens and I can check for updates.
I have tried it - and the same result - Windows is actually.

I do not understand the reason why Secunia shows Microsoft Update is not installed?!
I found in Internet - that directly windows update in the browser search deeper than search about service center. But search in the browser is not available in Win 7.

On my other computer (OS: winXP) functioned - because search in the browser is available.

Do you have an other idea, yet?

I have deinstall and new install - but the same problem :-(

Best regards
Estarina

Check that Microsoft Update is ticked in Update settings.

I've put the English version here: http://1drv.ms/1nd8233

On the main Windows Update page, does it say the German for

Get updates for other Microsoft products. Find out more.

Click Find out more. You will be taken to a page to agree Microsoft terms of use.

If you agree and click Install, the additional entries should appear.

Hallo ddmarshall,

thank you very much - now it is o.k.
It was a phantastic hint.

I have still a question:
Next to the button: check again (directly in PSI Secunia)
< Secunia Community> - now in Win7 - there is only history (Verlauf) and options (Einstellungen).

Do you know the reason and a solution for the problem?

Best regards.
Estarina

The Secunia Community menu was removed in release 3.0.0.7009.

The only way I know to get to the website from PSI is a link in the Step-by-step Process section of the Help.
