I have not updated PSI Secunia and am still running version 1.5 because I kept hearing such terrible things about 3.0. I decided not to chance it. Version 1.5 runs fine (though every day I get a notice to update).

Has anyone tried the new CSI 7.0? Does it work well? Is it free like the other versions?

Please let me know.

Thank you!
Suzanne

CSI is not free - it is a Corporate Version with details here:

https://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/

PSI has 3 supported versions. The version you are using, version 2.0.0.4003 & version 3.0.0.9016.

The download links are on the right hand side of the page here:

Thank you Maurice.

Have the bugs been fixed in the updated versions? I have been afraid to update because of all of the complaints about the newer versions since the one I use came out (1.5).

Is 3.0 behaving itself?

Thanks for replying so promptly.

I use the SMB console. All my endpoints must use version 3. They all report no problems nor have I had issues when installing it to test things.

As you have noted on the Forum others have different views.

It is a matter of taste.

For all the features of version 1 you need to install Adobe Flash & have it active.

This is not a requirement for version 2 or 3.

Version 2 does give more detail particularly for advanced users.

Version 3 is "bare bones" but does the core job of finding & reporting on vulnerabilities.

Why not give other versions a try - you can always revert back.

To upgrade (update) just press the link to the version you want to try from the link I gave you. The installer WILL AUTO uninstall the old before the reinstall - I do not advise using any type of uninstaller

Hope this helps.

Thank you. Yes, it does, considerably. I appreciate the information.
