I run about 10 different WordPress sites. I always keep the core files updated and plug-ins but I'd like any community suggestions regarding a security plug-in or offsite scanner for WordPress installations.

Lately I've seen more and more bot traffic trying stuff on my sites (stats plug-ins). Should I start using Cloudflare on all of them? Or is there a good security plug-in that will lock down files and scan for changes?

I'm worried that my sites will be used for malicious efforts or one day I'll wake up and it will just be hacked.

Any assistance is much appreciated.
