I have version 3.0.0.7011 of Secunia PSI installed at C:\Program Files\Secunia\PSI.
The Secunia website is offering 3.0.0.9016 for download but the entry: 'Secunia PSI (Personal Software Inspector) 3.x' in the Secunai programs list is marked as up-to-date. I have Secunia > Settings > Update handling set to 'Notify (not recommended)'.

Why is this and when does Secunia trigger an notice to update itself? many thanks Judith Buck

Judith,
PSI is a vulnerability checker not a general update notifier.
This refers:

Repeated requests have been made to Secunia Support to make it easier for users to know when a new cosmetic release is issued. To date it has fallen on deaf ears.
