After running a scan I am told that Word 2003 and Excel 2003 are insecure. Their locations are c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\EXCEL.EXE. c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\WINWORD.EXE. When I download the recommended update I get a message "The expected version of your program was not found on your system". What is going on?

What was the link you were given in Secunia PSI to resolve your problem? Perhaps the link is wrong, so it would be good to inform Secunia.

Easiest way to resolve this would be to either go to Microsoft Updates (if you're using pre-Vista Windows, you can find the link in IE: Tools > Windows Update and select the "Microsoft Update" link; otherwise Windows Update is built into Vista) or Office Updates (http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/downloads). Have it do a scan and update as needed. That should resolve things.

Best Wishes,
Kurosh
