Have not been able to update these programs, they are in C:\windows directory. Can they just be deleted? MS Update does not shpw them as requiring an update.

I can't answer your question, but I have a related one - is there a way to add the"good file" and then delete the problem one(s)? Or, like you said, can one just delete the insecure file without negative consequences? I hope we get a reply answer! Laura

Hi guys-if you're talking about MSXML4-maybe this will help.
1. Using Microsoft update hid KB 954430 so that it was not reoffered
while found a solution. Hid it because do not like turning off
automatic update. Turning off the Automatic update would give the same
result. Make sure you remember to turn it back on. :-)

2. Downloaded MSXML4-KB954430-enu.exe from:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang...

3. Deleted MSXML4-KB954430 using Add Remove program in control panel.

4. Installed MSXML4-KB954430-enu.exe by clicking on it.

KB954430 has not been reoffered ever since.

Hope this helps someone-Regards, wr
