It's a legitimate program used for various functionality, especially while surfing the web. The only problem is you have an older version on your PC somewhere. See: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/uninstall_jav... If you don't find any listing for Java or JRE in your Add / Remove Programs, then most likely it's not installed.
