PSI reports that The installation of Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2003 is insecure and potentially exposes your system to security threats. The path is c:\program files\microsoft office2003\office11\pptview.exe. Version detected 11.0.8164.0. It points to a link which downloads a patch named office2003-kb969615-fullfile-x86-en-us.exe.

When running this patch it produces a message stating there are no products affected by this package installed on this system. Rebooting and rescanning have no effect and it keep reporting the insecurity. Renaming pptview.exe results in subsequent automatic re-installation and re-configuration by micrsoft office.

Microsoft update scan shows that all is clear and nothing needs updating. Latest updated version of Belarc Advisor also shows no missing patches.

Could this be a false positive?
