the security patches for the updated version of firefox from adobe screw up the browser can you undue the patches and then have it ignore the threat so as not install them at a later time. I am not sure wheather i can fix them like I had them done before. And then PSI determined there was a threat because it could not read the files that were bad cause i had renamed them so they would quit screwing up the browser and the flash.
I am new to psi so i don't have all the thing it can and cannot do down yet. and was looking in the forum section on how to undue a patch but couldn't find anything.
thank you |

He he. I understand your frustration. Adobe has a long history of their software updaters not properly uninstalling older software versions. Jot down the names of the programs which PSI says that you need to update. Then download the various Adobe updates to either your desktop or to an easy-to-find folder in Explorer. Then uninstall the previous Adobe software versions. And then install the updated Adobe program versions. This should fix things in Firefox. I assume that you are using Firefox 3.X? If you are still using Firefox 2.X and/or an older OS like Windows 98 rather than XP or Vista, then that is part of the problem too. |

P.S Don't forget about any add-ons you have installed. They can keep you from being able to install programs also. Notorious are No-scripts,cookie control. Disable all add-ons that have this effect on programs. GoneToPlaid is 100% correct about Adobe. |

Thank You for your responses I finally found an uncorrupt download of the adobe thru majorgeeks.com all of the stupid one's at adobe were corrupt either wouldn't unistall properly or install either way they were messed. but i got a good one thru them. It works most of the time it still has it's problems with a couple of the file's. but for the most part it works. some days are better than other's lol idots why do they have to update something that finally works fine the old addage if it aint broke don't fix it. seems to apply to both mozillia and to adobe. But you know they always having to add something.
