Secunia has shown the Chrome Browser on a guest account is insecure.
Have opened Chrome and "About link" shows the Browser should be updated.
Have updated using the Chrome and "About link" shows the browser is now up to date.
Secunia still shows it is insecure on rescan.
Comment please. |

Hey,
This is a Chrome "feature". When you update your Chrome, it creates a new folder in the Chrome directory with the new files in it... Unfortunately, it doesn't clear the old files afterwards. Thus you haev two folder 1 new and 1 old. You should be able to delete the old one (the one with the lowest version number) with problems -- I have done so many times.

Thank you. I have found that Chrome does create a new folder and does not over-write the old. Have deleted the original folder and the insecure warning has disappeared. |

Thank you for your suggestion to delete the older dir. I hope that Secunia starts working with software developers, in this case Google, to promote the developers to avoid practices that will such as this. That is - a new version has been installed, but remainders of the old version linger. Unless !! this is a backout strategy for Chrome - to enable the user to go back to a previous version.
