I am currently running PSI v 1.0.0.4 and have received an e-mail from Secunia informing me of the new version PSI v 1.5

Can this be installed as an upgrade, or is it necessary to uninstall version 1.0.0.4 BEFORE installing the newer version?

Many thanks,

Using: Windows XP Pro + SP3
Internet Explorer 7 & Outlook Express 6
Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0.0.506

(I only use Secunia as an on demand scanner as it conflicts with Kaspersky if left running the whole time)

Here's my input FWIT. I opened my email this am & was notified by Secunia that v.1.5.0.0 stable was available for download. Right clicked on Secunia icon in systray & got the infamous "horizontal barber pole"-nothing happened for 2 mins.-tried again, same result-right clicked again & clicked Reload Interface-Viola!-it opened the interface. From there I joined the Forum to check things out-no problem. Closed Forum & back on my desktop right clicked Secunia icon & chose EXIT. Closed Eset Smart Security-firewall, A/V, & A/S. Went to Secunia download & downloaded v.1.5.0.0 Installer to desktop(by default). Opened Installer & merely followed the prompts to uninstall v.1.0.0.4 & install v.1.5.0.0. Not saying this works for everyone, but it did for me.

Regards & good luck, wr
PS Just be sure to close all programs possible so nothing interferes with the uninstall/install.

Thanks WR, have now downloaded and installed PSI version 1.5 and yes it did offer to uninstall the older version first and seems to be behaving itself :-)

You're welcome & hope everything goes OK for you, any problems just post here on the Forum & I'm sure someone will be glad to help out. Probably even someone more of a techie than me.
