I ran OSI this morning. It's been stuck on C:\cygwin\bin\tk84.dll for over an hour. Help? I enabled thorough inspection. Running on Vista Home Premium SP1 32bit. EDIT: That was on Firefox 3.5.1. I just tried it with IE 8.0.6001.18783 and it completed the scan in just under 13 minutes. However it only found 11 apps, and only one insecure app? (Which was the OS, since I haven't installed Windows updates in a few days.) When I used to run OSI on this system before I had to re-install Vista, it found several legacy issues. For sure I have well more than 11 apps installed on this system... |

By default OSI only scans a few programmes which is explained in the FAQ. If U want a full scan U need to install PSI in the advanced mode. Edit. The file causing grief belongs to Python which comes installed on some versions of OEM Windows. Do U use this programme? -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |

Happy 1000th post. :) I used to use PSI before I had to re-install Vista, but I'm almost certain OSI identified many more apps than this. Maybe I'm remembering PSI's results. I do use Cygwin. I don't actively use Python but I did intentionally install it with Cygwin. |
