No matter what I do, I can't remove this as a threat. Applied solution, scanned and restarted several times. Computer says I have the latest version. Hmmm.

Hi folks,

With Adobe you need to uninstall the old program before you install the update as Adobe does not uninstall/overwrite before installing the new program/update. I know Adobe has a uninstaller available @ their website but I'm not sure if it works on all their programs/add-ons as I only use FlashPlayer. My suggestion would be to use the Adobe Uninstaller & see if it clears out everything, then proceed from there.

Regards, wr

I have tried everything I can think of, along with suggestions. The threat is still there. It's a permanent fixture I guess, so I'm just not going to be concerned with it anymore.

I too am facing the same problem. I have wasted my bandwidth several times to install so many times. It seems Secunia is having a problem about finding out this. Even though "Patched" comments do come, the next time you open your computer Secunia opens the same problems.
Secunia has to do something about this.
I have tried uninstalling the earlier version and installed the latest one. still the same problem. I am fed up of this.
WAKE UP SECUNIA AND DO SOMETHING FOR THIS PROBLEM. It seems its a worldwide problem.

I thought by now the problem would be fixed. I can't do anything with air or flash having tried to install fix - and it says patch is there but still get secunia's warning.

I have AIR updated to v1.5.2.8870

I would suggest that in order to clarify your posts & for someone to help , you need to do the following :-

1)use PSI in "advanced" mode ;
2)in the "settings" tab make sure that the box in the first/upper section is NOT ticked in order to have the maximum info available ;
3)tell us in which "tab(s)" your problem programme is located ;
4)in that tab , click on the + in the box at the left end of the programme , the page will expand ;
5)in the expanded page , tell us what is written in the "installation path" ;
6)in the "toolbox" section , lower down , the link "technical details" should confirm the installation path details ;
7)click on the link "open folder" and you will see more details concerning the location of the "problem" .

If you are unable to resolve the problem yourself , all this info should allow someone on the forum to help/advise you .

I had the same problem, could not solve it. So I asked myself: WHAT IS ADOBE AIR? I could not remember having installed it. Googled around a bit and found that it is for "developers", which I am not. As a consequence, I uninstalled Adobe Air and am now again 100% secure.

When U download Adobe Reader it also downloads
Adobe.com & Adobe Air.

The exam question is do U need these programmes.

A Pc works perfectly without Adobe Reader, Adobe Air Or Abode.com.

Just remove any of the elements U do not use.

Whilst Adobe Air is mainly for developers , it is not essential to your computer , it does have some other uses . This link should give you enough info to decide whether or not it might interest you ;-

The advice given by you works. I uninstalled Adobe AIR and presto, PSI shows my computer as 100% secure. If i wish to install it later, I can do.

Uninstall Adobe AIR through ADD/REMOVE Programs or through CCleaner and PSI shows computer as problem removed.
In Fact, SECUNIA People are giving wrong thread connnection to Flash Player instead of AIR Plugin which is a different thread in Adobe website.

Thanks for all the comments - I too investigated AIR Plug In and got rid of it via Add/Remove programmes. The Secunia score is back to 100%. Interestingly I found that it was last used back in May - not sure what that was for!
