This post is from Secunia PSI Community Forum by puget1 & I believe will be helpful to your problem. "The problem took me awhile on this update to 9.13. The problem I found for information only, was that you have to know what build you HAVE. Adobe is using a platform application for this one. The old uninstall and re-install did not work for me. It wasn't till I realized that it is a platform. Therefore, 9.9 to 9.10 to 9.11 to 9.12 to bingo 9.13. You do however, have to go directly to the Adobe site to get the download Hope it helps it did for me. P.S. Adobe also advises of that fact; it is platform."

Regards, wr
EDIT: You will note that the latest version is 9.1 & that is where the confusion starts. Once U have download this version U must update it using the program updater.

I had the same problem. When I checked version of Reader that I had, it was 9.1.0. On menu bar, I went to Help > Check for updates. I then was able to download and install Reader version 9.1.3. My insecure message no longer comes up for Reader.

Best.
