Installed service pack 2 without any problem but Secunia reports that service pack 1 is installed (?) and says it is unsafe.

Yes I did (several times). Also checked if service pack 2 was recognized by the PC (Computer/Properties) and yes; service pack 2 is there. Also re-checked the MS update system again. All seems to be OK.
The problem is even that you can't turn this Secunia error message off.

If you can't find any more information to help you, in the patched program list....on-line references; tech details, etc., you will probably be best advised to contact Secunia Support direct.

Hi hojo,

Have you tried this?

1. To locate the exact file that the Secunia PSI has detected, please follow these guidelines using the
ADVANCED interface:
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
* Click on the + sign of the program to “expand’ it.
* Click on Technical Details in the Toolbox to see the installation path of the detected file.
* Remember the installation path and close down the menu.
* Click Open Folder and locate the detected file.
Please post back here with results.

Regards, wr

Last edited on 16th Aug, 2009 12:39 Thanks wr,

Solved!! What I found in using the 'Open folder' was that Secunia scanned a few days ago: before the Service Pack update. I rescanned with Secunia in which it updates the PC with remote file- and security signatures.
And presto... 100% secure now.

Sorry Mogs, what I did was a rescan within the application reported as being faulty. Not a total rescan. So I learned something: a rescan is a full one.

No probs....glad to hear you're sorted. Learn something new every day. I tend to do registry scan, defrag and Secunia scan, virtually every time there's a change. There's a lot in SP2...have you checked Welcome Centre for details ?
