Help, since a week the scan of Secunia PSI stays scanning all the time.
Who knows the answer to this problem?

Secunia PSI needs to be able to connect to Secunia servers to complete its scanning. However, if you have not configured
the security settings of Internet Explorer, the Secunia PSI may be prevented from getting the scan results. To receive
your scan results, you need to do some changes to your Internet options.
To do this:
a. Open Internet Explorer.
b. Go to Tools>Internet Options>Security tab.
c. Select the Internet zone and click on the Custom Level button.
d. In Security Settings, go to the Scripting>Active Scripting option.
e. Make sure that Active Scripting is Enabled (rather than Disabled or Prompted).
f. Press OK then Yes.
g. Back in the Security tab, select the Trusted sites zone and click on the Sites button.
h. Look at the bottom of the page and take the tick from the box marked"Require server verification(HTTPS)for all site zones" then type in the following and press the Add button to add them to the Trusted Zone Sites list:
http://*.secunia.com
https://*.secunia.com
i. Press Close
j. Run the Secunia PSI again to view the scan results

Hello Maurice,
slightly off this topic, but important to me as a new user.
Does PSI work only with Internet Explorer? I much prefer my Firefox.

Thanks.

No - take a look here:

http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal...

Good idea to read the FAQ - a little dated in areas but it will give U some useful tips.

I hope U are using the Advanced mode!

When U open PSI on the top right corner U will see SIMPLE & ADVANCED.

Click on Advanced & it will go black & simple will be blue.

U may get a warning from Secunia about advanced users - ignore it. It is simple to use & U get the full benefit of a super programme.

If U find problems U cannot fix use the Forum - plenty of people will help U.

Hi Netjutter,
Don't know if this will help or not , but worth a try. I presume that Internet Explorer is set as your default browser & the details given by Maurice Joyce didn't work. If using a browser other than IE change the internet settings in that browser by accessing it this way 1. click START 2. Control Panel 3. Internet Options then follow details c thru j.
If that's not the problem just try setting the clock on your computer to the correct time.
Also make sure your firewall settings are set to let Secunia connect to the 'net-plus any anti-virus or plugins(NoScript for example) are not blocking connection.

Good luck & regards, wr

Hi WR,

The problem is that the scan cannot match data with Secunia File Signatures engine.
Do you or anyone else know: is it possible to ping the secunia server?
