I run Vista Home Premium SP2. The installed IE8 version is 8.0.6001.18813, however PSI always detects version 8.0.6001.18702. Why? Has anyone the same problem? Thanks in advance for your assistance. |

Could it be that Secunia is detecting old files? Have you tried deleting them ? I have the latest version:- 8.0.6001.18813, but it is still shown as insecure for browsing; as it has done for quite a while , awaiting patch from vendor. -- |

Thank you MOGS. I have got the version information from the advanced interface, with a scan performed after having run windows update. By the way, also VISTA is labeled as insecure, even after the most recent update. I am not overly concerned, just puzzled! Best Regards |

I'm surprised there has not been more replies to your post. -- |

Mogs, thank you for your interest. I have checked further along your suggestions and the outcome is even more puzzling. When I expand the entry about IE I find: Installation path: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe. If I go to the concerned file and I explore its properties, I get: Version 8.0.6001.18813, last update 21/07/2009. It seems that PSI is looking at the correct (updated) file, but for some reason it gets an older version number from somewhere else. The recycle bin is empty. I will try to reinstall PSI, maybe it helps. Thank you again! |

Mogs, thanks again for your help. To answer your questions: Vista is shown in the Insecure tab as SP2. Neither Vista nor IE are shown in the Patched Programs tab. The Secure Browsing tab reports Internet Explorer 8.x; clicking on the relevant entry brings back to the Insecure tab, where the old version number is displayed. As I told in my previous reply, I intend to reinstall PSI, maybe something went wrong somewhere. I will keep you informed. Best Regards |

A quick question , is there anything showing in the error log (bottom right) after you scan . A full scan is needed for MS programmes. -- It always seems impossible until its done. Nelson Mandela |

If it's of any use....both IE8 and Vista are shown in my patched tab....IE8 is also in the Secure browsing tab...status/insecure.no solution. Good luck. -- |
