Secunia still see's Adobe 9.0 in the recycle bin. When i check the recycle bin using windows explorer, it say's it is empty. I've used CCleaner 2.22 to clear out the temp files and fix the registry errors. Sill I have the same result. I'm running Winodws 7 RC. Has anyone seen this problem and do you have a fix for it? Here's the path where the program is supposedly installed.

C:\$Recycle.Bin\S-1-5-21-2758562278-3208886984-340 4306630-1001\$R8JFFG1\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe

Thanks
Pete Saving

I have the same problem with several files reporting insecure and residing in $recycle.bin which doesn't exist. I've uninstalled secunia, run ccleaner, then reinstalled secunia psi and the six programs still come up as being insecure in the $recycle.bin. Should I mark them as ignore?

I only have XP not 7 , but I use CCleaner (set to empty the recycle bin) ; this could be a problem with PSI reading a 7 system file . Do you use 32 or 64 bit ??

If no one appears before Monday who can add light to your problem , I would email secunia at support@secunia.com

If you can't find the bin then , the bad guys won't find it easy either :) The files there "should" not be "active".

Best solve the problem before setting an ignore rule - have you tried a complete 10 minute shutdown and then full scan ?? Can help sometimes , if you have the time to spare .

Take care
Anthony

I'm using 32 bit Windows 7 Professional. I have CCleaner set to empty the recylce bin also. I did set the Secunia to "ignore". I see you said I shouldn't do that. So.. this week I'll try to get the info to secunia support. The problems on one of my other pc's, not this one I'm using today. Thanks for the help, I'll keep you updated.

Speaking as a simple user who needs to view pdf files on occasion, I am sick and tired of seeing Adobe Reader show up on the insecure list. I will no longer go through contortions trying to get each new Adobe release accepted.

I will be looking at replacing the bloated Adobe software with an free or open source alternative. While I am evaluating, I will remain subscribed to this thread in case a easy fix is discovered.

To resolve this issue, restart your computer than scan. Then the recycle bin will show empty. I restart after any correction to insecure issues Do this as part of your routine.
