I have downloaded and attempted to intsall Secunia PSI multiple times and get the same message, whether I choose SAVE and click on the file or RUN immediately. Any advice? Thanks in advance |

Clear temp internet files. Try again. If that doesn't work, try another browser, or a download manager. Firefox has almost no issues like this, IE has plenty. ;) -- Assorted Fnords. |

I have had the same problem. But my install worked when I ran the install program from the web rather than downloaded it. That install utility appears to be just a way to start the online install process anyway while you are connected to the Internet. A great program at a great price (!!) with great online help for using it.....a true value------but over the time I have been using various versions the install and update procedures are deficient, and you can't just rationalize that by saying its IE's fault. | ||||||||

There is no such thing as running an installer from the web. The action you choose from the IE dialog, only implies whether to store or just run the file after download. IE does cause NSIS errors more than FF. That's all I'm saying. -- Assorted Fnords. |

I too was afflicted by NSIS errors after repeated attempts to download/install v 1.5 of PSI. Did everything, tried everything up to and including standing on my head, facing Mecca, and uttering latest mantras and Gregorian chants, to no avail. Users on this forum who recommended using different browser (than IE7/8), heaven forbid, are spot on. I DL'd Firefox and after about 10 minutes of trial and error dl'd v 1.5 of PSI, as save file, ran it and voila, I now am running the current and correct version. Thanks for the help folks and apologies to anyone offended by my attemp at humor. | ||||||||
