Using PSI in "advanced" mode you need to tell us the installation path of v 3.0xx. This is how to use PSI for best results :- 1)use PSI in "advanced" mode ; 2)in the "settings" tab make sure that the box in the first/upper section is NOT ticked in order to have the maximum info available ; 3)tell us in which "tab(s)" your problem programme is located ; 4)in that tab , click on the + in the box at the left end of the programme , the page will expand ; 5)in the expanded page , tell us what is written in the "installation path" ; 6)in the "toolbox" section , lower down , the link "technical details" should confirm the installation path details ; 7)click on the link "open folder" and you will see more details concerning the location of the "problem" . If you are unable to resolve the problem yourself , all this info should allow someone on the forum to help/advise you . -- It always seems impossible until its done. Nelson Mandela |

THEN TRY TO DOWNLOAD AGAIN. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK CHECK YOUR FIREWALL AND YOUR BROWSER IT MAY BE DISABLING THE DOWNLOAD. -- |

Actually its a problem on firefox... If you go look at the properties of firefox, (even if you fully uninstalled/reinstalled to latest 3.5.7), click the "version" tab under "Product Version" which Secunia is retreiving its info is incorrect, since it says version 3.0.1 |

@HBSteve , PSI shows my FF as version 3.5.7. in the "patched" tab on my PC and gets its version from "firefox.exe" in the "Mozilla Firefox" folder in C:\Program Files . Checking its "properties/version/product version" I get 3.5.7 . If you get version 3.0.1. showing up in PSI , then you probably have an "old" file somewhere , it may be "unsafe" depending on its location. If you use the tips in my first post on this thread you should be able to tell us in which tab(s) 3.0.1 and 3.5.7 are located and in which folder the files are located . Let us know what you find . Firefox is a platform build. If you know how to use reg edit,go to registry and verify how many builds you have. If you have two or three builds over then you should be able to remove the build in question. To be safe do a system restore first before removing. Otherwise, use the Secunia file path system and see where the outdated build is and remove it from there. -- |
