I've just had my Adobe Reader problems sorted out by bjm and others in that part of the forum. So I re-scanned. As well as IE8 being unsafe, the scan reported Mozilla 3.5.3. I checked it and found it had an unsafe add-on (ASK toolbar) that was slipped into another download this morning. I got rid of that but another scan still shows Firefox 3.5.3 as being unsafe!
I've checked both Add/Remove and also 'Help' on the Firefox page - I definitely have 3.5.3.
Just off to Mozilla's site to check!!!

Hi Anthony - it's shown as "insecure -no solution" in the "Secure Browsing" window. Hope this helps! Thank you.

Hello Taffy ,

It means what it says , v 3.5.3 has a non critical vulnerabilty which is known to the world and his dog , same applies to IE , so we await a patch from the Mozilla/MS boys.. You have an as up to date version of Firefox as is possible (fully patched) or it would appear in the "insecure" tab (as well).

Mouse over and click on the SAID SA36649 at the right hand side of the Firefox warning (in "secure browsing") for more details.

Just remember to use safe browsing techniques :))

Take care
Anthony

phew - thank you Anthony. I was thrown by the fact a scan has never noted this about Firefox before, only IE.
Sids law (english expression) that summat like this happens on a day when there were 19 Microsoft updates (no probs).
Again - and as ever - thanks to all of you who have spent time helping me, and others.
From a coldish Yorkshire (aka Gods Own County) in the UK!!!
