I want to get a relative to use one of these programs to detect any insecure program that she may have. She has Windows XP. Which should I set up for her, PSI, or OSI? Thanks for your help. Newby -- W7 - 64 bit - SP1 HP Intel pavilion - Home Premium IE9 8GB RAM |

Hello Newby I tarted with OSI and when PSI came out , I upgraded to it , but I have retained my OSI email updating. It is a "second" line warning of important updates & often reacts earlier than PSI ( you need a new full scan to see all Microsoft updates ). I could manage without it , now . However , when faced with the more complex updates or if you run into trouble and need to ask the community for it's ever willing help, then PSI in "advanced" mode is pretty much essential . Depends on your/their expertise and if you are there to support the relative. You could run OSI and see what gives , then see what PSI has in "simple" mode and then try to get to "advanced" mode ; which in security terms might be your goal . Hope that helps. Take care Anthony -- It always seems impossible until its done. Nelson Mandela |
