Hi
For about a week now Microsoft updates having being sending me an update for Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 which fails everytime.

There is no error code it just says "The following updates could not be installed - Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 Security Update for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2 (KB953297)"

My operating system is Windows XP pro SP3

I hunted about on the MS update site and eventually managed to send in a query. The reply I got asked me to run a diagnostic using the following web link - http://support.microsoft.com/Dcode/Default.aspx?gu...

But all this does is to make my IE8 crash every time I run it.

In every other way my computer appears to operate normally.

Not sure what to do next - anybody got any ideas?
