I have suggested adding Nuance OmniPage Pro 17 on numerous occasions over the past year, and the program has never been added to the recognized list... any explanations?

There was a similar question in another post I am copying the reply from a Secunia member of staff, below, some of which is not relevant to your post but it does give a reply. I have found that the suggestions made have been dealt with very quickly some even being processed on the day the request was made.

"Hi

We're trying to add all the software suggested to our database as fast as possible.

There might be several reasons why your software is not detected by the PSI:

- You're running a beta version

- The file we use for detection is a bit different on your system compared to the one in our database

- It's being filtered from the results because of an ignore rule.

I downloaded the latest (stable) version of "Auslogic Duplicate File Finder" to see if there was an error in our detection rules, but the PSI found it right away.

I can see we also have the following in our database:
Auslogics Registry Cleaner 1.x
Auslogics Registry Defrag 4.x

Have you tried rescanning with the PSI?

Btbow; If you take a screenshot of the main exe-file of the program and send to support@secunia.com we will examine the issue further.

FWIW , I seem to remember commenting in the past that my Pro version 12 is (still) picked up by PSI , but it is in a "ScanSoft" folder in "ProgramFiles" , even though it is serviced by Nuance (France).

Hi Morten

I am using the latest version of PSI - V1.5.0.0, and I scan my computer on a regular basis for new entries.

I have had OmniPage PRO17 on my computer since May 2009.

Before Nuance bought the program, it appeared in Program Files under SCANSOFT.
Now the Program Files entry is under NUANCE.

The Program Files entry appears as

Nuance--|
OmniPage17--|
OmniPage17.exe 5,506,336 5/11/2009

Hope this helps a bit..
Bruce
