PSI can seem to find about 158 programs on my laptop, but sometime over the summer it lost how to find/identify IE6. So far only on this one machine. I only have this one w/XP_SP3 and IE6. I thought it was a temporary thing but it's gone on long enough. It's not listed anywhere in the Insecure/EOL/Patched lists. And not even in the Secure Browsing list. Firefox is found, but not IE6. The about box under IE6 shows Version 6.0.2900.5512.xpsp_sp3_gdr.090804-1435. What other info do I need to provide to help resolve this issue?

Does anyone from Secunia read/respond to this forum? Or is this for users only? How do we go about notifying Secunia of a problem with PSI?

They do look at the Forum - the details are all on the Forum Tab of PSI.
To contact them use the link provided immediately below your post (it says contact in blue)
U can also suggest that IE6 is added back to their database. The link "Program Missing? Suggest It Here" is at the bottom of most PSI tabs.

I'll try both and see what happens. I had thought that I had already recommended that Secunia re-add IE6 a month or more ago. But maybe a bit more emphasis is required.

Got a reply to my email from Secunia to request that progam (IE6) be added. Just ran a PSI full scan, and IE6 is now being recognized. Thanks Secunia. |

Pleased it worked out for U.
From an interest point of view am I correct in saying it is totally secure & U cannot see the minor insecurity reported with IE7 & 8 in the Secure Browsing tab?

No - not quite. IE6 is still showing under "Secure Browsing" as "Insecure, No Solution" SAID: SA13317. Just the one item right now. I've been able to keep all of the other various activeX controls, Java, etc that Secunia knows about up to date & secure w/PSI.
