I was alerted by PSI this morning that SeaMonkey 1.1.18 was end-of-life. I immediately responded by downloading and installing the newly released SeaMonkey 2.0. I first learned that the installer for SM2 does not install the earlier version, so I uninstalled that using the Add/Remove applet in the CPL. Now PSI sees no end-of-life or insecure programs on my machine, but does not list SM as a browser in the Secure Browsing tab. So, Sm has advanced from being an end-of-life browser to being a secure application: that's progress! |

It may not for a while. SeaMonkey 2 is still at the RC2 stage of testing released on 20th October. Secunia do not report on Beta testing & does not automatically pick up RC releases. U could ask for an inclusion via the link provided. -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |

In fact, there is no indication whatever, for example in the Help | About entry for SeaMonkey 2.0, that it is not a final release. Furthermore, PSI alerted this morning that 1.1.18 was "end-of-life": this would certainly be inconsistent with 2.0 being merely a release candidate. It would seem that part of PSI is not recognizing what other parts are saying. Check www.seamonkey-project.org for more: in fact, this latest version was released on 27 October 2009. Edited to add the release date of SeaMonkey 2.0. |

Whoops - sorry - I was reading a third party site incorrectly. SeaMonkey 2 is a final release. That said, what you have described does sometimes happen. My recent upgrade to Winzip 14 Pro from V12 Pro got "lost" & there are other threads reporting the same kind of behaviour. -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |

If you restart the PSI (or reload the interface) SeaMonkey should now show up in the Secure Browsing-tab. |

You are correct! When I booted this morning, PSI did indeed include SeaMonkey as a (secure) browser. Thanks! | ||||||||

Secunia is still showing SeaMonkey 2.0 is a security threat and I have done everything I've read thus far. I removed and reinstalled SeaMonkey, removed and reinstalled PSIsetup.exe and nothing so far has eliminated the problem. Any more ideas? 2.0 is now a final release according to their website and no longer a beta version so Secunia should be recognizing it. |

If showing as vulnerable what is the path? You also suggest it is not showing at all. FINDING A VULNERABILITY FILE PATH ================================= To locate the exact file that the Secunia PSI has detected, use or switch to the ADVANCED interface, then : 1 Click on the + sign of the programme to "expand' it. 2 Click on Technical Details in the Toolbox to see the installation path of the detected file. (Copy (CTRL+C) & paste (CTRL+V) the Installation Path of the file back to the Forum if U are unsure what to do next)). -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |
